SM9537 : View of the old harbour
near to Fishguard/Abergwaun, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Great Britain

View of the old harbour
Looking back from the Marine Walk it is possible to obtain a remarkably complete view of the harbour backed by Mynydd Dinas to the east and to the south the Preseli hills beyond the heavily-wooded Gwaun valley. On the right opposite the old quay is the rocky point known as Llanpit, a favourite bathing place in former times, with steps still leading down to it. Left can be seen the pebbly cove below Fishguard fort and the 'new' road above it, constructed to replace the shorter, steeper route that preceded it.
