Remains at Booze Wood mine
Remains at Booze Wood mine
There isn't a great deal left at this former dressing floor site at Booze Wood mine. The bouse teams were near the top left of the picture, whilst a water channel fed a breast shot wheel of about 18ft diameter, which stood below the tree in the centre background. The wheel pit is still visible if one searches around. The photographer's assistant is standing on top of a stone arched culvert which took water from the wheel to Arkle Beck, a few metres behind the camera position.
