Textures in an old wall
The quarry men who spent their days labouring with the local stone also dwelt within it by night. The mortar that was used to bind the Ordivician shale building blocks for their simple cottages around the corner from their workplace, has reacted with ?the sea air to produce these curious excrescences that look like something viewed under a microscope.
