Coal from Blindwells open cast
This trainload of coal does not have far to travel. Loaded at Blindwells open cast loading point seen behind the train, it will make the very short journey to discharge at Cockenzie Power station just a mile or so away.Since this picture was taken this loading point has closed and trains are no longer loaded here.No doubt the Millerhill based crew were eager to get done this being a Saturday morning turn. The main East Coast railway is seen to the leftwith the a198 road behind.
