View through the stones 2
Looking through one of the stone sculptures on Stones Island, Carsington Water. Stones Island is not completely surrounded by water but is reached by a footpath. The holes through the stones are intended to focus the eye on particular features in the surrounding countryside. However, since the stones were erected, some of the surrounding features have become obscured by vegetation. This one leads the eye to the reservoir, still just visible at present, though trees are now growing up in front of it.
