Fishguard market 1836 toll board
This gives and idea of the goods bought and sold here in the early C19: meat, grain and produce of the farmers' gardens and fields, including rabbits and wildfowl, probably brought in by the farming women in baskets or panniers.
Note the steep charge for a 'showman's waggon' - 10 shillings a day!
This board can be seen in the market hall today.
