Cambrian Line east of Cyffordd Dyfi / Dovey Junction station
The view follows the railway alignment towards Machynlleth. Both running lines are used bidirectionally as the (much longer) branch to Abermaw/Barmouth, Porthmadog and Pwllheli branches off the "mainline" to Aberystwyth just out of sight.
The train on this occasion is the West Coast Railways Link
excursion train from Machynlleth to Pwllheli on Penllyn, operating Mon-Fri during the holiday season. The header board says "The Cambrian", and underneath someone with a sense of irony wrote "1968-2008 - 40 Years End of Steam".
