The bridge carries the West Somerset Railway over the Taunton-Minehead road with a clearance of 4.2m. The large DAF lorry carrying a Maersk Sealand container is reputedly taller and West Somerset staff were out inspecting the bridge to ensure it was safe for trains to pass following a hit by this vehicle
