Crowshore Plantation, Routh
Brown hare on the track north of Hall Farm near Crowshore Plantation, Routh. Just visible top left of the picture is a slender mast, presumably for an anemometer used to test the suitability of the area for a proposed wind farm. On February 8th 2007 it was reported that East Yorkshire councillors had refused a planning application by Ridgewind Ltd to site twelve 100-metre high turbines here, which the applicants claimed would supply electricity for about 12,000 homes, or nine per cent of households in the East Riding. The main objection was that the turbines would be visible behind Beverley Minster in the view from Beverley Westwood.
