Whiterails Road heads left, an alternative route from Newport to Wootton Bridge and Ryde. Blacklands Road goes off half right, another popular short cut. On the corner, prominently displaying its presence, is the entrance to Isle of Wight Lavender, about half a mile south on a farm track not shown on the 1:50K map.
