Llyn Gynon is a natural lake in a shallow depression in the surrounding moorland. It occupies the NE corner of this square and stretches out into the neighbouring one. The whole square is a fairly flat plateau of rough grassland at around 450m; the highest ground is near the SW corner, from where this picture was taken. The extreme SW sees a drop towards the head of Cwm Mwyro (SN7764 : Cwm Mwyro).
